A Year-Round Guide to County Lines Country
Welcome to County Lines country! Whether you’re visiting or making this your home, we’re delighted you're here.
We may not be entirely objective, but we think our region is one of those rare, something-for-everybody places. We’re practically wall-to-wall with historic sites and beautiful, old buildings. Our lush landscape offers woods, parks, lakes, farmland and unparalleled gardens, both public and private. Our appealing back roads lead to small villages first settled two-and-a-half centuries ago, and their shops and restaurants are a joy to discover. At the same time, our modern highways will take you to the latest in mall and outlet shopping.
In the course of your explorations, you may crest a hill and see a fox hunt in progress across the meadow. County Lines country has always been horse country, and even though we’ve had explosive population growth in recent years, there’s still room for plenty of equestrian activity.
And lots of great shopping and dining — from an especially fine selection of antiques dealers, art galleries and superb craftspeople, to shops offering trendy fashion and home design, to dining of virtually every ethnic origin, and from traditional haute to the latest culinary innovation, with all stops in between. No matter what your interests and preferences, you’re going to love it here!
This Guide is intended to introduce you to it all and to give you an insider’s view of our area. It features the special places we’d take you to see if you were visiting us, and lets you in on the best shopping, dining, museums, gardens, schools and much more.
So, if you’re visiting for only a short time, we hope this annual issue of our magazine will make your stay here even more enjoyable. Or if you’re a new neighbor settling in, we suggest you keep this handy for year-round use. Either way, welcome to our corner of the world! -CL-
